The impacts of Covid-19 disease on the general health of infected people

Background and purpose: In December 2019, the release of a viral disease reported in Wuhan, China. Covid-19 is an acute respiratory disease that can have different effects. Therefore, this study carried out to observe the impacts of the Covid-19 on the general health of infected people in Tabriz city. Materials and Methods: The present study is a descriptive-analytical study that was conducted in 1399 in Tabriz among 92 people with Covid-19 disease by non-random sampling. The data collection tool is two questionnaires. The first questionnaire contains demographic characteristics and the second questionnaire is Goldberg General Health Questionnaire. In order to analyze the data, SPSS software version 24 and the statistics of percentage, mean, standard deviation, maximum and minimum were used. Findings: Among 92 patients in this study, 65 (70.7%) were male and 27 (29.3%) were female. Findings from 92 patients showed that Covid-19 disease reduced general health and physical symptoms (12.46±0.30), decreased sleep quality and increased anxiety (9.50±0.17) and increased Depression rate (8.80±0.19). Conclusion:  : Given the effects of Covid-19 disease on general health, physical condition and social functioning, it is hoped that authorities will have plans to improve general and physical health.
